New Orleans on Halloween…what more does one need?
I am still in a state of overwhelming awe as I sit here in the NOLA airport waiting for my flight home to Austin. The past few days have been a crazy colorful blur of beautiful kindred souls, creole food, wine and vampires. I feel so incredibly blessed to have had this opportunity and cannot thank everyone enough, from Marita and Steve at Boutique du Vampyre for hosting not one but two days of book signing for me, to the gloriously fantastic Suzie and Lord J (as well as all of the other organizers) of the Vampire Lestat Fan Club for inviting me to be their Guest of Honor author at this year’s Queen of the Damned ball. Honestly, last night when I was standing there at Rosy’s Jazz Hall, surrounded by hundreds of stunningly garbed vampires and willing victims, I was simply overcome with joy. Everyone was so lovely and so truly happy to be there on Halloween night celebrating under the New Orleans stars. It was a sight to behold and one I shall never ever forget. And I was deeply touched by all of my readers who came up to me to express their love for ETERNAL VIGILANCE. You have no idea how moving that is and how inspiring! This is the reason I write and write vampire novels. This is the reason I am whole-heartedly committed to making the EV series, now and forever.
Can you tell how blissfully happy I am? This is my idea of paradise. ![]()

The masterminds Suzanne (blond next to me) and Lord J (far right) of the Vampire Lestat Fan Club! Thank you!!!

During Thursday’s book signing at Boutique du Vampyre a gentleman in the back was making custom fangs for the ball attendees. This lucky couple was having theirs fitted. ![]()

Copies of ETERNAL VIGILANCE on display at Boutique du Vampyre. The signing was extremely successful and I look forward to returning as soon as the next book is out in early 2009!

With Steve, one of the owners of Boutique du Vampyre. Stop by and see him and Marita the next time you’re in the French Quarter!

Right now, this is all of the photos I have to share. Unfortunately my camera was on the fritz and most of the photos turned out extremely blurry. As soon as the other members of the ARVLFC upload their photos to the fan club website I will direct you towards them as I am sure there will be hundreds to view later this week! Thank you, again, to everyone who helped make this trip possible for me. You have my undying love and loyalty. I look forward to Halloween in New Orleans next year as well!
Bites & Kisses!!!
